Description
BE PREPARED! DISASTERS HAPPEN YEAR ROUND.
Make Getting Your Annual Topanga Access Card Part of Your Family’s Emergency Preparedness Plan.
The CHP and Sheriff’s Department have stated that when officers deem it safe, the Topanga Access Card may facilitate entry through road closures for residents during a DISASTER. Please note the Access Card program purpose is to help facilitate re-entry into the canyon in the event of an evacuation during a disaster when officers deem it safe. It is not used during road construction closures, vehicle accidents, or other non-disaster situations.
THE ACCESS CARD IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN OTHER FORMS OF ID
Gives Access to Children, Elderly and Disabled Individuals:
Unlike other forms of ID, non-driving children, elderly and those with disabilities who have an Access Card will be able to enter the canyon with a non-resident driver.
Gives Access to Topanga Residents’ Caregivers:
Residents with disabilities and health conditions that would require special assistance to evacuate the canyon can obtain a Caregiver Access Card for their caregiver. Visit our website for more information on how to obtain a Caregiver Access Card.
Expedites Entry by Zone for All Residents:
The Access Card displays your ZONE Number which will expedite re-entry when CHP and the Sheriff’s Dept. deem it safe.
Has Vital Emergency Contact Information at Your Fingertips:
Important numbers are printed on the backside to aid in emergencies.
